Harriet Tolpin, PhD

Dr. Tolpin is an economist and Professor and Dean Emerita at Simmons College in Boston where she developed and provided oversight for several health professions education programs. As founding Dean of the Graduate School for Health Studies at Simmons, she was responsible for graduate programs in primary health care nursing, nutrition, physical therapy, and health care administration.

Since leaving Simmons in 2000, Dr. Tolpin has consulted for a number of health care organizations on projects related to workforce development and strategic planning. She is currently Senior Advisor for Workforce Development at Partners HealthCare where she provides program development assistance and project facilitation for several internally and externally funded initiatives.

Dr. Tolpin serves on the Boards of several non-profit organizations in greater Boston including Associated Early Care and Education, Benjamin Banneker Charter Public School and Goddard House, as well as HRiA.
