Tim Prinz, PhD

Timothy Prinz, PhD serves as HRiA’s Policy Center Director. A public health professional with nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Prinz brings the ability to translate research into policy. His areas of expertise include program evaluation, strategic planning, project management, policy advocacy, and healthcare markets and delivery.

Dr. Prinz received his PhD in political science from Harvard University and was named an APSA Congressional Fellow and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar in Health Policy.

Prior to joining HRiA, Dr. Prinz collaborated with UCLA scholars and congressional staff to incorporate provisions on preventative care, children’s health, and primary care into Washington’s healthcare reform. His broad range of experience has also included building a research and grantmaking organization, examining the implementation of Medicaid managed care in New York, and improving the research efforts of organizations aiding underserved populations.
