Resources

WEAVE

The Weaving A Violence Prevention Ecosystem (WEAVE) Toolkit provides practical guidance on community power building efforts within the context of community violence intervention. It is the culmination of a collaborative effort between Health Resources in Action (HRiA) and the CDC Foundation, with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Engagement for Equity

Engagement for Equity offers tools to help public health professionals change their approach to community engagement, with a focus on shifting power to community members to make and influence decisions. Foundations of Community Engagement includes seven self-paced modules to inspire and support reflection, improve public health practice, and provide practical tools in pursuit of authentic community engagement. The POWER Playbook provides actionable steps for community organizations, advocates, and governmental institutions to advance equitable community engagement.

Health Departments: Temperature Check for Your Equity Journey

Temp Check helps health departments facilitate conversations focused on the current state of their internal equity efforts, including opportunities for improvement.

Data for Action: NACHW National CHW Survey to Advance CHW Professional Identity, Leadership and Capacity

Data for Action shares findings from a 2021 national survey of 867 CHWs. Session recordings and infographics focus on topics like CHW demographics, career pathways, and pay equity.

CHW Common Indicators

The CHW Common Indicators are based on how CHWs measure the success of their work, and the conditions they know they need to be effective. Collecting these indicators consistently will allow us to combine data from multiple CHW programs and make a stronger scientific case for the value of CHW work, and the conditions CHWs need to be successful.
