Finance Specialist – Budget & Contracts

We are searching for a Finance Specialist to be responsible for collecting and entering budgets, working with data, and supporting the contracting process for a specific portfolio of work within the organization. The person in this role will work directly with a Budget & Contracts Coordinator to accurately reflect budget data in working files and follow through on processing and filing contracts with individuals, and local, state, and federal government.

This is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity to learn budgeting and contracting from the ground, up. The position requires keen attention to detail and the ability to work well and calmly under pressure. This is a full time, non-exempt hourly position that is eligible for overtime pay if weekly hours exceed 40.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Budget preparation and tracking in Excel
  • Contract preparation and implementation
  • Invoice preparation and tracking
  • Contract and grant compliance
  • Other duties as assigned to support the programs and department

Candidate Qualifications:

Expertise

  • Budget experience;
  • Advanced Excel skills; strong general computer skills (Word, Outlook, databases, etc.);
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree;
  • Accounting software experience is a plus.
