Joseph Griffin serves as the Director of Peer Learning at the HAVI, a fiscally-sponsored program at HRiA. He oversees a team dedicated to the development of spaces that center the expertise and experience of the HAVI’s member programs to promote program collaboration, growth, and healing. Joseph joined the HAVI with 16 years of experience in public health. Previously, he worked at Youth ALIVE! in Oakland, California, where he served in a variety of capacities, including supporting the HAVI’s early work as the National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs. Joseph completed his doctorate in public health at the University of California, Berkeley, where his research focused on community-level healing from community trauma. Joseph also received a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and a Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.
