Malik Russell is Director of Strategic Communications of the HAVI, a fiscally sponsored program of HRiA. He is a journalist, author and a community-based educator and has served as communications director for several notable racial justice, criminal justice, and environmental policy organizations. As a communications and media consultant, Malik worked for a variety of non-profits, advocacy organizations, governmental agencies, and major foundations. Malik earned a Bachelor of Arts in American History from Brandeis University and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Baruch College in New York, where he was selected as a National Urban Fellow. He is the author of one novel and two books on spirituality.
