Mariana supports the HAVI’s research and evaluation activities and supports the researchers who work with network programs. She is also involved in the HAVI’s training and technical assistance activities through her leadership on the development and implementation of the Violence Prevention Professional Training as well as her leadership of the cohort of 8 sites funded through the Advancing Hospital Victim Services grant. Prior to joining the HAVI she worked for over a decade in injury and violence prevention research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Injury Prevention Research Center. She is also a Board member with the Society for Advancement of Violence and Injury Research (SAVIR). Mariana received her MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from UNC Chapel Hill.
