Elena Bengochea is a Senior Associate, Policy & Practice at HRiA.
Previously, she was an intern for the Center for Prisoner Health and Human Rights in Providence, RI, where she directed a video production project about Hepatitis C for use by incarcerated people. As a student at Brown University, where she earned a Bachelor Arts in Public Health, she coordinated a tutoring and enrichment program that pairs college students with youth in refugee families to help ease the process of transition. Elena is passionate about immigrants’ rights, mental health advocacy, and prison reform.
