HRiA Changemakers Honored at Statewide Public Health Awards

Advancing public health requires partnership, persistence, and the collective leadership of individuals and organizations committed to advancing health equity. This spring, we’re proud to celebrate members of our community who embody that spirit of collaboration and impact.

At the Massachusetts Public Health Alliance’s 2026 Spring Awards Breakfast, leaders from the Commonwealth will be recognized for their outstanding contributions. Among those being recognized are two deeply valued members of the HRiA community.

This year’s honorees reflect the power of vision grounded in community. Together, their work shows how trust, partnership, and connection can strengthen the systems that shape health across Massachusetts while elevating the voices and impact of community members. At HRiA, we are especially proud of Magnolia’s and Lissette’s leadership. Their work demonstrates what is possible when collaboration and purpose come together to advance health equity in lasting ways.

Celebrating MACHW and Lissette Blondet

We also celebrate the Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers (MACHW), our fiscally sponsored partner, which will receive the Community Leadership Award.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Lissette Blondet, MACHW has been instrumental in elevating the role of community health workers (CHWs) across the Commonwealth. Their work centers equity, workforce development, and authentic community partnership—ensuring that CHWs are supported, valued, and empowered to serve as trusted connectors in the health ecosystem.

In Good Company

Magnolia and MACHW join a group of distinguished honorees, including Dr. Miriam Komaromy and Dr. Jean McGuire, all of whom exemplify the leadership and passion needed to advance public health in Massachusetts.

Moments like these are an opportunity to pause, celebrate, and reflect on what makes this work possible. Behind every award is a network of collaborators, advocates, and community members working together toward a shared goal: healthier, more equitable communities.
