The Peer Leaders Promoting Safe Driving Project is managed by Health Resources in Action (HRiA) and is supported by the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA) through the Drunk Driving Trust Fund Prevention, Education, and Training grant (DDTF PET). Using the peer leadership model, youth groups lead workshops to promote a public health initiative to reduce the incidence of youth driving or operating under the influence (OUI) in their communities, collaborate with local police departments, and utilize social media platforms to raise awareness. The project aims to build public speaking and facilitation skills, while also building confidence and empowering youth to become engaged with their community.
