Description

Public health approaches to supporting child and family development – and preventing abuse and neglect – now focus on supporting safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments. In this report, new evidence based on population surveys demonstrates the important role of positive experiences on lifelong health and well-being. This new evidence demonstrates that children require certain positive experiences to thrive – and that avoiding and mitigating risk, while important, is not enough.
