Alex Fidalgo is a Senior Training Associate in the Training & Capacity Building team at HRiA. He leads trainings for the Opioid Overdose Training Prevention Program. Alex has been providing peer recovery services and supervision for many years in communities around Massachusetts, including Worcester and Springfield. As a person in long-term recovery, Alex works as a Recovery Coach Supervisor for Multicultural Wellness Center Services, as a Mentor for the Hamden Sheriff Department, and as a Recovery Coach Trainer under the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS). Alex advocates for peer coaching and is well-known in the community for his passionate approach to peer advocacy. He graduated from the Latino Behavior Health Workforce Program and was trained as a Recovery Coach in 2014. He is a certified problem gambling specialist (MA PGS) and addiction recovery coach (CARC). His pathway of recovery is spiritual, and he is committed to his church. Alexander Fidalgo was born in NY, raised in Puerto Rico and Tampa, Florida.
