Hugo V. is a Screening & Information Specialist for the Helplines at HRiA.

He is a Registered Nurse with over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry. He obtained a nursing degree from Brockton Hospital School of Nursing and Fisher College, a data analytics certificate from Columbia University, and an addiction treatment certificate from Yale University. Hugo has held various nursing positions in the Greater Boston San Francisco Bay areas. As a person in long term recovery and a passionate advocate for recovery, Hugo has presented on substance use disorder (SUD) to college nursing students, healthcare organizations, and drug courts. Hugo is the founder of the Massachusetts Peer Support for Nurses (MAPSN), a peer support organization for nurses struggling with SUD. Hugo volunteers as a Peer Leader for the Restorative Justice Program in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
