Jen Slonaker is a Vice President at HRiA with an extensive background in executive leadership and development of effective public health interventions and serves as a state and national expert on sex education and sexual health. Prior to joining HRiA, she led the development of the curriculum, Get Real: Sex Education That Works, included on the US Health and Human Services list of evidence-based sex education programs and in use in 48 states and 6 countries, reaching over 300,000 young people a year. Jen has been recognized for her leadership, receiving the 2017 Massachusetts Public Health Association Alfred Frechette award recognizing the MA Public Health Leader under 40. She served as the Board Chair of the national Association of Planned Parenthood Leaders in Education and on the Board of the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy. Jen is an experienced professional trainer on topics of sexual health, nonprofit management and employee engagement. Her work with adolescents includes; sexual health education, work with pregnant and parenting teens, substance use and violence prevention in schools, support for LGBTQ+ youth, peer education, and management of multiple afterschool programs, including groups for young girls. Jen holds a Masters of Social Work degree from Boston University.
