Maria Dueñas Lopez is a Program Associate of The 84 Movement at HRiA.

Maria has committed their life to create more inclusive spaces that empower BIPOC groups to create sustainable change in their communities. She has experience working as a youth activist within the tobacco control field with local, state and national organizations. Before joining The 84, they served as the Vice President of the Indiana Latino Democratic Caucus and worked as an immigration court paralegal. Maria graduated with a degree in political science and a certificate in social justice organizing from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. There, she was awarded the William M. Plater Civic Engagement Medallion for a demonstrated commitment to community service.
