Andrea Maruniak is the Senior Communications Manager with the HAVI, a fiscally sponsored program of HRiA. She joined the organization in January 2021 with over a decade of experience in communications and media, including at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the National Women’s Law Center in Washington, D.C., where she served as media manager for the organization’s health care and reproductive rights team and before that as the communications program assistant. At the HAVI, Andrea works to raise the visibility of the organization and its key issues through media engagement and by helping to grow the organization’s presence on social media. She also produces the HAVI’s monthly e-newsletter, manages the HAVI’s website, writes and edits content for a wide range of public-facing materials, and supports the organization’s narrative change efforts. Andrea currently lives in Baltimore, but she is a Midwesterner at heart and a proud alum of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where she earned a Bachelor of Journalism and a Master of Arts in Journalism.
